Stone Mountain State Park

Mountain Stream Fishing Photo

Stone Mountain State Park is a trout fishing mecca providing both delayed harvest fishing, October thru the first Saturday of June, and wild trout fishing year round. A scenic wonder, from the picturesque stone mountain itself to several beautiful waterfalls and wildlife galore, it is a wonderful place to spend the day or even a week! Stone Mountain has more that 17 miles of designated trout water in 13,747 acres of beautiful park land. There are three streams in the park that are classified as wild trout streams where only single hook artificial lures may be used. The east prong of Roaring River within the park is classified as delayed harvest and during the eight months it is closed to the harvest of fish it provides an excellent outdoor classroom for the beginner. Both of our guides live within minutes of the park and know the streams like no one else. It’s their home water.
