New River 6/9/07

I had 2 half day trips on the upper New River saturday. Iusually don’t try do 2 half days in one day but it worked out great. Between the 2 trips we covered about 8 miles of water and the smallies were on all day! First trip was with Philip and Jarra L. of Concord, NC. They were on their anniversary getaway to Shelton Vineyards and went out on their first guided fly fishing trip and Jarra’s first time ever fly fishing. They both did well, most of the time a beginner fly fisher has tough time with smallies but Jarra did great. Phillip greatly improved his casting and got quanity but Jarra got him on quality. Thanks to both of you it was a fun trip
