Wild Trout on Light Tackle

I cut my teeth fishing for wild trout using ultra-light outfits and around 25 years ago starting fly fishing and put it to the side. I had been contemplating adding it to the trips I offered since I had the gear to do so. As luck would have it John and Ben wanted to go trout fishing but had never fly fished and wanted to spin fish for wild trout. We hit the stream for a 1/2 day trip and they did well. Pictured is Ben with his first North Carolina wild Brook Trout, John with a nice wild Brown Trout, and both men with a nice wild Brown Trout Ben caught with John holding it. (Trout wouldn’t behave for Ben.)
